O dear, I shall be too late

One of these ages I shall ...(I won't)
slide down, and
if the eye of the other becomes aware
it may shrink to ask,
was it all worth?
"the extra neglect" and the "indifference"

There are things of which Imay not speak;
There are dreams that cannot die;
There are thoughts that make the strong heart weak'
And bring a pallor into the cheek'
And a mist before the eye.
And the words of that fatal song
come over melike a chill:
'A boy's will is the wind's will'
And the thoughts of yout are long 'long thoughts.'
